NaNoWriMo, T-Mobile and Breck's Bulbs
Well, having finally gotten the first (non-counting for NaNoWriMo, counting for me) chapter tweaked and polished and up, I then proceeded to get 558 words of the next chapter written before sleep overtook me.
And this morning, I've added the cute NaNoWriMo icon to my blog. See?

My account for NaNoWriMo is "morobrany," by the way.
Sometime today, I'm going to have to go get my cel phone replaced, because T-mobile is a thousand-headed hydra with Alzheimers. My cel phone, which shorted out over a month ago, has had the problem blamed on the battery (replaced), the cell phone (replaced twice now) and so now the only possible problem is the charger. But after all the headache, they convinced me that they'd give me $150 worth of minutes and six extra months and I could just go buy a new phone, so I go do that today. Or maybe just a damn charger. This is all under warranty, and utterly stupid, but this is standard for T-mobile, as I understand from friends who have them. They'll keep throwing minutes at you until you're happy.
On the plus side, since my sister lives on her cel phone (she's a doctor), I won't have to hoard my minutes now when I talk with her.
What else? Oh, I ordered a ton of flower bulbs from Breck's (www.brecks.com) and now know that they're somewhere in customs. Hopefully they get here before snow falls in Tahoe, since half are for my mom's house. If they can't be planted there though, I'll just plant them all in San Jose and we'll transplant them in time for next year.

One thing I didn't order, since it grows wild around here, are mariposa lilies, which they call "butterfly tulips." I think in the right season I'll just go over near IBM and take some from the fields to transplant, because then I'll know what will grow right in Almaden. Besides which, I don't think it's that good to transplant cultivated species back into their wild habitat, since the pollen might mess with the wild strain.
